Dr. Reza
Malek was accepted to Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson
University after only three years of college at the University
of Delaware due to academic excellence. He completed medical
school in 1991 and continued his internship and a diagnostic
radiology residency at the Medical Center of Delaware, a Thomas
Jefferson University affiliate.
He
completed a cardiovascular and interventional radiology fellowship
at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School in
1997.
Dr.
Malek was the principle Interventional Radiologist/Endovascular
Surgeon at Riverside Community Hospital and St. Mary’s Regional
Medical Center for five years. He also was an assistant clinical
professor at University of California Irvine Medical Center.
In
2001, Dr Malek became the Chief of Interventional Radiology/Endovascular
Surgery at the University of California Irvine Medical Center
and continued as a part-time fellow in Neuro-Interventional
Radiology. Most recently, Dr. Malek completed another year
of fellowship in Neuro-Interventional Radiology/Endovascular
Neurosurgery at University of California, San Francisco.
He
is boarded in Radiology and Interventional Radiology and is
a full member of the American Society of Interventional and
Therapeutic Neuroradiology and American College of Phlebology.
Dr.
Malek specializes in all aspects of venous disorders including
venous ablation techniques, venous re-cannalization, Inferior
Vena Cava recanalization and filter placement.
