Ultrasound imaging
is the latest state-of-the-art diagnostic procedure in
determining vascular disease. It is a safe and painless
procedure that uses sound waves to produce moving
pictures of the blood flow in a vessel. These pictures
allow the physician to determine if there is an
obstruction or narrowing of the vessel. Ultrasound tests
can be performed on veins and arteries in the upper and
lower extremities, as well as the vessels in the neck.
The sophisticated
ultrasound is equipped with a color flow doppler that is
extremely sensitive to very high and very low blood flow
states found in the extremities and carotid arteries.
Other noninvasive
studies performed on the veins and arteries include
segmental pressures, analogue wave forms and doppler
studies. Several blood pressure cuffs will be placed at
different sites on the arm or leg; blood pressure and
wave forms are recorded at each site. Results provide
the physician with information on the location and
severity of the vascular disease.

IMEXLAB
9000HS
The IMEXLAB 9000HS is a powerful automated
system capable of handling any complex
physiologic vascular assessment. Choose from 6
user-programmable test protocols to begin a
fully automated lower extremity segmental exam.
Any tests not included in the comprehensive list
of automated tests can easily be handled using
the Doppler, PVR and PPG instrument modes.
With the Advanced Protocol
Definition Level software, the IMEXLAB 9000HS
provides high flexibility for both venous and
arterial assessment. The easy-to-use user
definition feature makes customizing the
protocols to meet your needs a snap.
